A Legacy of Excellence in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery: A Mother-Daughter Partnership at Ford Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

At Ford Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, we are deeply honored to be featured in the latest edition of Connections Fall 2024 and to represent St. Joseph’s Academy as alumni in this special mother-daughter business article. The opportunity to share our story is not only a privilege but a testament to the values and education we received at SJA, which continue to shape our work and approach to patient care.

Co-founded by Dr. Kate Ford Chiasson and her mother, Dr. Ann Ford Reilley, Ford Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery stands as one of the few mother-daughter plastic surgery practices in the nation. Our partnership is built on decades of trust, respect, and shared dedication to the art of plastic surgery. Dr. Kate, a 2004 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, and Dr. Ann, a pioneering figure in Louisiana’s plastic surgery community, combined their knowledge and experience to create a practice that offers compassionate care and innovative surgical solutions.

Dr. Kate’s journey in medicine began at SJA, where she was inspired by her education and the role models around her. She went on to earn her medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center and complete a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery before returning to Baton Rouge to open Ford Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2020. Dr. Ann, after a long and successful career, returned to the practice in 2020 to assist her daughter in selected cases, blending her vast experience with Dr. Kate’s contemporary expertise.

Our partnership has been a dream come true, and we feel privileged to work alongside each other, combining over 50 years of surgical experience. The trust we share has allowed us to create a unique and successful practice, where patients benefit from our combined skill sets, ensuring the highest level of care.

We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community, and we are excited to continue our journey in serving the people of Baton Rouge with the same passion and commitment that has driven us since our time at St. Joseph’s Academy.
