Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to reshape the nose. Commonly referred to as a “nose job,” rhinoplasty can permanently change the appearance of your nose and harmonize your facial features in a more pleasing manner.

Common conditions leading patients to consider rhinoplasty include a prominent hump, a beak-like appearance, a bulbous tip, nostril-flaring, or a variety of deformities resulting from nasal trauma. Incision placement will depend upon the correction needed. Your scars may be entirely hidden inside of the nose. If Dr. Chiasson needs more direct visualization to correct your problem she will place small scars on the outside of the nose in inconspicuous locations.

If you have difficulty breathing due to obstructing internal nasal structures your insurance may cover a portion of the surgical and facility fee.

Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. It is critical that your blood pressure is well controlled during and after surgery.  You will return to the office the day following surgery and then again at a week for the removal of your splint and sutures. You may then apply make-up if there are persistent bruises. You should avoid all activities which could cause injury to your newly reshaped nose for at least six weeks.
